budget to provide information as to how the money
received was utilized (services provided) and their
request for FY 2006 funding, if any. In addition,
the organizations are to provide financial
statements to accompany their funding request.
The Action Register is now on
the City’s website and will be updated from time to
time.
Staff is updating cost
estimates for moving the Freeman House and annual
maintenance and renovation thereafter. The
financial information will accompany the Donation
Agreement soon to be presented to City Council.
Florida Department of Community
Affairs is putting on a Disaster Recovery Workshop
to afford us an opportunity to learn more about
state and federal programs earmarked for recovery
projects. The City’s Community Development and
Finance Departments will be represented at the
Workshop. We will be looking for possible funding
for our Public Works Complex, Laishley Park, and
Fire Station #2.
The City Manager and Community
Development Director will be meeting with Charlotte
County’s representatives to develop an interlocal
agreement pertaining to the $9 million grant that
the City and County jointly applied for and are
awaiting notification.
The City Manager’s handout was

Resolution:

The Police Chief handed out an
Ethical Dilemma Test developed by the National
Institute of Ethics:
- Am I acting out of
anger, lust, peer pressure or greed?
- Is my decision legal?
- Would I do it if my
family were standing beside me?
- How will it make me
feel in 20 years?
- Is it worth my job and
career?
- What would I do if I
were being videotaped?
- Would my loved ones be
proud or ashamed?
- Am I following the
Golden Rule?
Human Resources
will be providing training on
interviewing and hiring procedures for employees
involved with making hiring decisions.
Community Development
– A letter received from Florida
Power & Light states that they will be changing out
six to eight of their towers in Laishley Park. They
will be undergrounding the distribution electrical
wires. Only the transmission lines will remain
above ground, and they will be fifty to sixty feet
high.
