Punta Gorda Boating Clubs:

There are 4 boat clubs associated with the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. They are the PGI Cruising Club, PG Islanders, Mariners of PGI and the PGI Seafarers. These boat clubs provide their members with many opportunities to enjoy on and off water activities. They offer group cruises, outings, parties, special events and more.

Each one of the boat club's will accommodate approximately 200 members. Most of the club's steadily maintain their maximum membership level. Prospective members often must place their names on the club's waiting list and while they wait for a membership slot to come available.

In order to join any of the above boat clubs the prospective member must also be a member of the
Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association.

For more information review their respective websites.

Find out more about the Punta Gorda Boat Club by checking out their website.

The Punta Gorda Sailing Club

This is an active sailing and railing club. They meet monthly at the Punta Gorda Boat Club's club house (see above). If you do not have your own sailboat you can still join into the fun. Sign up to crew on a sailboat during one of their many races. Contact Dick Potter the club's Fleet Racing Captain (and a Punta Gorda Life contributing writer) for more information at 575-8667.

In the mean time, review their website for additional information.

For every boater there are many opportunities to join in and have fun. You will meet new friends, learn how to be a safer and more efficient boater and just have a whole of fun!
