The Friends also sponsor adult programs each month featuring
guest speakers. These programs are held at the Church of the
Good Shepherd, 401 W. Henry Street (across from the library)
beginning at 6:30pm. Refreshments are served and there is no
charge.
February 23 – John E. Worth, PhD
will present the most recent research about the Calusa
Indians of SW Florida and the findings of the archeological
dig on Pine Island. (

Shattuck will take us along on a trip on the Magic Penny.

Children and teen reading programs are

The Friends publish a monthly
newsletter titled “BOOKMARK.” Copies are available at the
library.
If you are interested in becoming a
member of Friends Library Punta Gorda, Inc., you can pick up
a membership form at the library.
Annual membership fee are:

The Friends welcome donations of used
books and magazines which can be dropped off at the
bookstore located in the library’s entrance way.

increasing
the usage of the library and raising money for the
Punta Gorda Library. The Friends operate the
bookstore selling donated paperback and hardback
books, magazines and other items. Money raised from
the sales is given to the library to buy new books,
tapes, CD’s, shelving and other materials. This
year, the Friends also hope to replace the well worn
sofa and easy chairs with proceeds from their sales.
