Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association Building Progresses
August, 2004

Construction of the new PGICA building at 2001 Shreve St, Punta Gorda,  is progressing on schedule with occupancy expected by February 2005.  The building is being built at a base elevation of 12’1” to qualify as a community “refuge of last resort” in case of a major storm – up to a Cat 2 hurricane.  The building will include a large auditorium, kitchen, five classrooms specialty shop and offices.  There will also be three tennis courts.  Plans for the building are on display at the current association headquarters, 1800 W. Marion.  Please feel free to stop by and review them weekdays from 8:30 to 3:45.
